We’ve drifted apart, you and I.  We used to be like planets revolving around the sun but now I am like the moon, revolving around your orbit.  Sure, I may go wherever you go but I am no more than a lonely satellite with a heart that’s been turned to stone.

In the darkness lie those who are eager to befriend me.  Awaiting.  Lurking.  Conspiring yet confident that I will some day join them.  Soul-thirsty and conniving wretched beings anxious to drink my life away.  Despite all this, I am not afraid as I’ve become accustomed to their company.

With hesitation I walked into the mist. I took one step and I couldn’t see the ground beneath my feet. The air was thick, so thick it felt like I was walking through cobwebs. Every step I took could have been my last, though part of me felt comfort in knowing that if I fell I’d be caught entangled in the air.

“My heart is ill and pounds loudly but I find comfort in knowing that it puts my daughter to sleep when she lays on my chest”

As he dove into the buffet he told her ”I’m going straight for the good stuff” and she said “what is that?”. With his mouth full of food he mumbled “don’t know but there’s less of it than anything else”.
